Hello there! My name is Siobhan Calder.
I'm a freelance photographer, shooting creative portraits and lifestyle imagery for families, individuals, small brands and businesses. I also offer workshops, photo walks and mentoring to other enthusiasts and photographers.
I live in South East London with my partner Gavin, our toddler Rory and our Tibetan Terrier Elkie. It's been a meandering journey for me, becoming a photographer. I'll save you from too many details and skip to the end, that's where I quit my job in December 2016 while on maternity leave to do the work that's in my heart. I'm figuring out how to balance that with being a full time mother, and so far it's been tricky but unbelievably rewarding.
I've been vegan for over ten years, and it's one of the best things I've ever done. I love cooking, being outdoors, making things with my hands and tending to my plants.
I can walk on my hands, play the banjo and make you the best dang lemon drizzle cake you've ever had. I try to live with less, slow down and be mindful of how I use my time. I like my food spicy, my boots muddy, my coffee black and my music with the roots still on.
And let me tell you a secret...my name isn't really Siobhan Calder. That's my partner's surname. We aren't married but I like it way better than mine, so I took it anyway. Feminism, yo.
I love to write, and so I share more words and images over on my lifestyle blog 'Bless the Weather'. You can find more about me, plus my writings on life, motherhood, creative business, travel, photography and food.
